The following criminal incidents were compiled from Saint Paul and Mendota Heights police department reports and other sources gathered between January 29-31.
Highland Park
Theft—Two catalytic converters were reported stolen from a truck on the 2100 block of Stewart Avenue around 1:10 p.m. Friday, January 28. The two suspects left in a newer silver SUV crossover vehicle.
—Vehicles were reported stolen on the 2500 block of Edgcumbe Road on January 30, and on Inner Drive on January 30-31.
Assault—A man was nearly run over while trying to prevent a catalytic converter theft around 8:05 a.m. Friday, January 28, on the 1300 block of Bayard Avenue. He tried to remove the rear license plate off the suspect vehicle, which then attempted to back over him. No injury was reported.
—A man was assaulted on West Maynard Drive and West Seventh Street around 2:14 a.m. Sunday, January 30.
Miscellaneous—Felony damage to property was reported on the 1300 block of Hidden Falls Drive on January 27, and the 500 block of South Fairview Avenue on January 28.
Macalester-Groveland
Theft—The catalytic converter was reported stolen from a vehicle on the 300 block of South Saratoga Street on January 28-29.
Assault—A 39-year-old man was arrested for felony domestic assault around 4:56 p.m. Sunday, January 30, in an apartment on the 1300 block of Saint Clair Avenue.
Miscellaneous— Felony damage to property was reported on the 1100 block of James Avenue around 11:30 a.m. Thursday, January 27.
Merriam Park
Theft—A vehicles was reported stolen on Wheeler Street and Hague Avenue on Friday, January 28.
—The catalytic converter was reported stolen from a vehicle on the 1700 block of Marshall Avenue on January 28-29.
—A pick-pocketing theft of more than $500 was reported on the 1600 block of Concordia Avenue around 2:13 a.m. Sunday, January 30.
Summit Hill
Robbery—An aggravated robbery was reported at Billy’s on Grand, 857 Grand Ave., around 3:03 p.m. Sunday, January 30.
Theft—A 39-year-old man was arrested for possession of stolen property on the 1000 block of Grand Avenue around 10 a.m. Friday, January 28.
Summit-University
Theft—A vehicle was reported stolen on the 700 block of Marshall Avenue on Thursday, January 27.
Weapons—A spent shell casing was discovered in the middle of the intersection after police received a report of a driver firing a weapon on Dale Street and Carroll Avenue around 1:48 a.m. Sunday, January 30.
West End
Theft—Catalytic converters were reported stolen from vehicles on the 800 block of Tuscarora Avenue on January 26-27, and the 100 block of West Seventh Street on January 28.
—A vehicle was reported stolen on the 200 block of Grand Avenue on Saturday, January 29.
—Police arrested two women, ages 36 and 48, for tampering with a vehicle after they were pulled over in a stolen car around 6:17 a.m. Sunday, January 30, on the 1000 block of Otto Avenue.
Assault—A man said he was punched in the face by a male suspect at Bennett’s Chop & Railhouse, 1305 W. Seventh St., around 11:55 p.m. Saturday, January 29. The suspect fled prior to police arrival.
Miscellaneous—Police were sent to investigate an incident involving a knife, blood and possible tongue in the snow around 11:05 a.m. Saturday, January 29, on the 100 block of Grand Avenue. The medical examiner determined it was a fake tongue, according to Sergeant Natalie Davis.
—A 48-year-old man was arrested for drug possession after being verbally and physically uncooperative with officers and refusing to leave Freedom House, 296 W. Seventh St., around 11:13 a.m. Friday, January 28.
