The Minnesota Highway Safety Center will offer a 55+ Driver Discount refresher course from noon-4 p.m. Thursday, May 19, at the Thompson Park Activity Center, 1200 Stassen Lane, West Saint Paul. The cost is $24. Those who have completed the full eight-hour course must take the refresher every three years to continue receiving up to 10 percent off their auto insurance. Jewish Family Service of Saint Paul, 1633 W. Seventh St., will offer the popular “Powerful Tools for Caregivers” class from 1-2:30 p.m. on Thursdays, May 5-June 9. Participants will learn self-care behaviors, emotion management, building self-confidence and identifying community resources. The cost is $25 and scholarships are available. Each participant will receive a copy of The Caregiver Help Book. Maximum class size is 10.
