The following criminal incidents were compiled from Saint Paul and Mendota Heights police department reports and other sources gathered between June 22-23.
Theft—The catalytic converter was reported stolen from a vehicle on the 1600 block of Montreal Avenue on June 21.
Weapons—Police responded to a report of males with handguns running around corners and hiding near Benson Avenue and Madison Street around 1:38 p.m. Wednesday, June 22. The males turned out to be boys playing with BB guns. The guns were recovered and the boys’ parents were notified.
Theft—Catalytic converters were reported stolen from vehicles on the 1200 block of James Avenue on June 19-20, and the 1200 block of Summit Avenue on June 21.
—A vehicle was reported stolen on the 1700 block of Saint Clair Avenue on June 19-20. The vehicle was reportedly used in other crimes in the city and was later recovered.
—A victim scared off a catalytic converter thief who was under her car with a power tool on the 200 block of South Hamline Avenue around 7:58 p.m. Tuesday, June 21. The male suspect fled in a blue/gray SUV with partial Florida license plate and empty bike rack.
Weapons—Gunfire was reported near the intersection of Lexington Parkway and Randolph Avenue around 1:43 a.m. Thursday, June 23.
Burglary—An attempted burglary was reported at Auto Tech, 461 N. Wilder St., during the evening of June 20-21.
—A laptop computer, iPad and Social Security card were reported stolen from a residence that was broken into on the 100 block of North Cretin Avenue between 9:30 a.m.-8:15 p.m. Tuesday, June 21.
Theft—A vehicle was reported stolen on the 400 block of North Wheeler Street on June 17-18.
Theft—The catalytic converter was reported stolen from a vehicle on the 900 block of Grand Avenue on Wednesday, June 22.
Robbery—A strong-arm robbery was reported on the 600 block of Dayton Avenue around 4:09 p.m. Tuesday, June 21.
Theft—Vehicles were reported stolen on Dayton and Western avenues on June 16, the 600 block of Portland Avenue on June 9-21, and the 600 block of Holly Avenue on June 22.
—The catalytic converter was reported stolen from a vehicle on the 800 block of Laurel Avenue on Sunday, June 19.
Theft—A motorcycle was reported stolen on the 900 block of West Seventh Street on June 17-21.
—The catalytic converter was reported stolen from a vehicle on the 1900 block of Shepard Road on Tuesday, June 21.
Miscellaneous—A 29-year-old man was cited for criminal damage to property after he was reportedly seen damaging flowers at the Irvine Park fountain around 5:27 p.m. Wednesday, June 22.
