The following criminal incidents were compiled from Saint Paul and Mendota Heights police department reports and other sources gathered between July 28-August 1.

Highland Park

Burglary—A burglary and assault were reported on Shelby Place on the evening of July 29-30. A drunk man apparently was trying to get into a residence and spat at officers when they arrived at the scene. Officers used a taser and pepper spray with negative results, but finally were able to handcuff the suspect.

Theft—Vehicles were reported stolen on the 2200 block of Ford Parkway on July 23, the 1300 block of Davern Street on July 27, on Inner Drive on July 29-30, and on the 2400 block of Stewart Avenue on July 29-30.

—The catalytic converter was reported stolen from a vehicle on the 1600 block of Niles Avenue on July 26.

   

Assault—A former employee reportedly made felony threats toward other employees at the Watergate Marina around 8:51 a.m. Friday, July 29.

Miscellaneous—Police responded to an alarm at Highland Park Senior High School around 5:55 p.m. Saturday, July 30, and discovered that two boys had entered the building through an unlocked window. Nothing was damaged or stolen and the boys were returned to their parents.

Lexington-Hamline

Burglary—Suspects rammed through the security gate and stole a vehicle from Caliber Collision, 1190 University Ave., around 9:33 p.m. Wednesday, July 27.

Theft—A 36-year-old woman was cited for trying to steal more than $300 in items from the Midway Target around 6:31 p.m. Thursday, July 28.

—A 32-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman were arrested for shoplifting at the Midway Target around 4:32 p.m. Thursday, July 28. They reportedly filled a shopping cart, paid for just one tomato in the self-checkout area and then tried to leave with $200 in unpaid merchandise.

—Vehicles were reported stolen on Dunlap Street and Selby Avenue on July 29, and at the Midway Target on July 29.

—A 48-year-old woman was arrested for trying to steal more than $1,200 in items from the Midway Target around 2:52 p.m. Saturday, July 30.

Miscellaneous—A female riding a scooter was reportedly struck by a vehicle on the 1100 block of University Avenue around 5:26 p.m. Thursday, July 28.

Macalester-Groveland

Burglary—A break-in was reported at a home remodeling site on the 1000 block of Palace Avenue during the evening of July 27-28.

Theft—Catalytic converters were reported stolen from vehicles on the 400 block of Brimhall Street on July 28, on Randolph and Cleveland avenues on July 28, and the 1600 block of Grand Avenue on July 29.

—A vehicle was reported stolen on Summit Avenue and Mississippi River Boulevard on July 28.

—A 36-year-old man was arrested for mail theft on the 1500 block of Grand Avenue around 4:30 p.m. Sunday, July 31.

Mendota Heights

Theft—Softball equipment was reported stolen from a vehicle on the 1300 block of Northland Drive on July 23.

Miscellaneous—The tires were slashed on two employees’ vehicles on the 1000 block of Wagon Wheel Trail, it was reported on July 28.

Merriam Park

Burglary—Dunkin’ Donuts, 143 N. Snelling Ave., was burglarized around midnight Thursday, July 28.

—A 30-year-old man was arrested for burglary after being found inside the Marshall Loft apartment complex under construction on the 2100 block of Marshall Avenue around 10:32 p.m. Saturday, July 30.

Theft—Vehicles were reported stolen on the 1600 block of Shields Avenue and the 100 block of North Snelling Avenue on July 29.

Miscellaneous—Felony damage to property was reported on the 200 block of North Howell Street during the evening of July 29-30.

Snelling-Hamline

Burglary—A home break-in was reported on the 1500 block of Portland Avenue between 6:30-10:46 p.m. Friday, July 29.

Assault—A man reportedly was assaulted by a homeless person on Snelling and Saint Anthony avenues around 9:50 a.m. Sunday, July 31. The suspect fled as squads arrived.

Miscellaneous—A bicyclist was taken to the hospital with minor injuries after being struck by a vehicle on University and Hamline avenues around 4:40 p.m. Sunday, July 31.

Summit Hill

Theft—Vehicles were reported stolen on the 1000 block of Fairmount Avenue on July 28, the 1100 block of Saint Clair Avenue on July 29, and the 500 block of Grand Avenue on July 31.

Assault—A 24-year-old man was arrested for felony assault, fleeing police and giving false information following a short foot chase on the 1400 block of University Avenue around 6:08 p.m. Sunday, July 31.

Miscellaneous—Four incidents of felony damage to property were reported on July 28, including ones on the 1000 and 1100 blocks of Grand Avenue, and two on Grand and Milton Street.

—The tires of two vehicles were slashed on the 1100 block of Grand Avenue between 2:16-3:15 a.m. Friday, July 29.

Summit-University

Theft—A 31-year-old woman was arrested for receiving stolen property and drug possession after police stopped a stolen vehicle on Selby Avenue and Farrington Street around 11:16 p.m. Wednesday, July 27. Two passengers in the vehicle were also arrested for drug possession.

—A vehicle was reported stolen on the 300 block of Marshall Avenue on July 29.

Arson—A fire was reported in a multi-unit residential building on the 900 block of Concordia Avenue around 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 30.

Miscellaneous—Felony damage to property was reported on the 900 block of Hague Avenue between noon-5:30 p.m. Friday, July 29.

West End

Robbery—A man was assaulted and robbed of his cellphone by a male suspect on the 100 block of West Seventh Street around 1:30 a.m. Friday, July 29. Two other suspects reportedly held back friends of the victim during the robbery.

Burglary—An attached garage was entered at a condominium complex on the 200 block of Spring Street around 4:42 p.m. Thursday, July 28.

Theft—An enclosed trailer and commercial lawnmower were reported stolen on the 900 block of West Seventh Street around 4 a.m. Wednesday, July 27.

—Two boys were arrested for felony auto theft, fleeing police and possession of stolen property between 2:31-4:31 p.m. Thursday, July 28, on the 900 block of West Seventh Street.

—Vehicles were reported stolen on the 200 block of Oneida Street on July 28, and the 400 block of Superior Street on July 30.

—Officers were talking with a possible suspect while trying to recover a stolen vehicle near Grand Avenue and Leech Street when another man drove the vehicle away around 12:50 a.m. Friday, July 29. The other suspect was cited for tampering with a vehicle and released.

—The catalytic converter was reported stolen from a vehicle on the 800 block of West Seventh Street on July 29.

—A Mossberg Patriot rifle was reported stolen on the 200 block of Nugent Street on July 29.

Weapons—Gunfire was reported on the 800 block of West Seventh Street around 3:04 a.m. Sunday, July 31.

Miscellaneous—A 33-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct after he reportedly was interfering with people’s privacy at the Hampton Inn, 200 W. Seventh St., around 1:33 a.m. Saturday, July 30.
