The Minnesota Streetcar Museum needs volunteers to operate historic Minnesota streetcars at its lines in downtown Excelsior and near the Lake Harriet Bandshell in Minneapolis. Volunteers are also needed as station agents and to help maintain the streetcars and the track. Operator applications are due March 31, with training to be conducted in early April. Trainees need to be at least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license and physically capable of operating a streetcar for at least three hours once per month. The Minnesota Council of Nonprofits is seeking nominations for the 2023 Minnesota Nonprofit Mission Awards. Presented annually since 1987, the awards recognize nonprofit organizations making outstanding contributions to Minnesota’s quality of life in the areas of Advocacy, Anti-Racism, Innovation, and Responsive Philanthropy. Nominations are due by 5 p.m. Friday, April 28. In May, a committee will narrow the field to three finalists in each category.
